Research Focus and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a vibrant team developing mathematical models to explore:
- Evolution of social traits and human behavior (preferences, cultural transmission, life history, large-scale societies, social interactions, ESS theory).
- 70% independent research in theoretical evolutionary biology.
- 25% teaching (lectures, supervision of master’s students).
- 5% institutional tasks (e.g., lab equipment maintenance).
Qualifications and Skills
- PhD in evolutionary biology, physics, mathematics, or economics.
- Strong expertise in mathematical/computational modeling (e.g., dynamical systems, stochastic processes, control theory, game theory).
- Interpersonal skills:
- Collaborative mindset and effective communication.
- Open-mindedness and ability to inspire others.
- Language: English (working language of the department). French is not required.
